Description
In the five rooms of exhibits and collections saved in Sponges, Corals, Mollusks, Arachnids, Insects, Crustaceans, Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds, Mammals. Today, the museum more than 170 thousand items, of which about 10 thousand form the exhibition. The funds, in turn, are as follows: invertebrates - 2123 units, malaсological - 44297 units, entomological - 91898 units, ichthyological - 688 units, amphibians - 545 units, reptiles - 364 units, ornithological - 5191 units, oological fund - 841 units, mammals - 2858 units, osteological fund - 490 units, Collection E.-F. Germar - 4258 units, Collection of N.I. Srebrodolska - 358 units, Collection F.I. Strautman - 1108 units, a Collection of O. Schtodinger - 2119 units, Collection A. Ulyanowski - 5000 units, Collection S.K. Pietrusky - 7460 units. The museum preserves more than 130 type specimens of animals, that is, those which were first discovered and described to science. They come from the Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Brazil, India, Mexico, Australia, Eastern and Central Africa, the countries of Central Europe.
