Description

The Willibalds Cross is located near the Willibald House in Steinerbrückl. It was donated by Alois Riedl (1809–1893), who hailed from this remote area. Riedl climbed from a poor cottager´s son to a royal Bavarian civil servant; he served, among other places, in Munich, Kelheim and Stadtamhof as a court servant and repeatedly appeared as a benefactor to his home parish of Deuerling.

The cross dates from around 1880 and is made of cast iron. The corpus is depicted in the four-nail type, the ends of the cross are trefoil-shaped. The monument is part of a series of religious field signs in the vicinity of Deuerling.
