The Middle Franconian town of Wolframs-Eschenbach is the birthplace of the Parzival poet Wolfram von Eschenbach. For centuries, the town belonged to the Teutonic Order, which transformed the former village into a town and significantly influenced its architecture. To this day, Wolframs-Eschenbach, with its 3,300 inhabitants, is one of a number of Franconian towns whose town walls are still completely intact and whose core is characterized by medieval and Renaissance architecture.
