The schoolhouse, which was built in 1728 with a teacher's and cantor's apartment, stands on the church square. In this half-timbered building, the musician and composer Carl Gottlieb Reißiger was born on January 31, 1798, as the second son of the Belzig cantor Christian Gottlieb Reißiger. Carl Gottlieb (1798 – 1859) later made musical history at the Dresden court and left behind an extensive body of compositions.
