At the end of our pedestrian zone you will reach the Sperlingsberg, a central place with a fountain. This fountain is built in 1906 commemorates an honorary citizen of the city: Dr. med. Haacke (1824-1899) . On its column, you see a woman feeding birds. Vernacular says she is called “Sperlingsida” - she is a symbol of charity and lovingness.
