Building Culture begins at the village entrance

Traditional elements of the region designed in Pop-Art style.
In an initiative by the municipality of Banzkow in cooperation with the University of Wismar, the village entrances of Banzkow were designed with traditional elements in Pop-Art style in 2004. The elements for village entrance design were erected in 2007. Step by step, a project was realized that the local council tackled together with architecture students at the University of Wismar in 2003 and had discussed several times with many residents. We not only want to excite tourists who are already in Banzkow about the design of the village entrances, but also motivate other travelers to visit Banzkow specifically because of the special village entrances and not just drive through. Even if art usually not only finds admirers but also critics, we are certain that the residents of Banzkow are proud of their unusual village entrances.
