Standing rather small and unobtrusive, the "Reithnerhaus," one of the last remaining Jura houses with its hipped roof, is located on Regensburger Strasse in Deuerling. This typical 19th-century West Upper Palatinate farmhouse was built around 1848 -1850 by Martin Lanzl. He purchased the plot of land for 400 Florentine guilders from his mother to build a residential house with a barn and yard. The 1835 cadastral map shows that a house had already been standing on the property. The cadastral records show entries for the owner Lanzl for the years 1853 and 1854, as well as 1847 and 1850 for some contracts. As early as 1850, Martin Lanzl and his wife Walburga opened a grocery store in the Reithnerhaus, which also explains a peculiarity of the house, the 2 entrance doors with a continuous hallway, the front door of which was specifically built for the grocery store. In 1889, the property was bought by Joseph and Katharina Reithner. The house name "Wölflbaueranwesen" was brought along by the farmer from Pittmannsdorf and was practically transferred to the Deuerling property. Katharina Reithner ran a colonial goods store in the house. In 2001, following the death of the last resident, the property was bought by the association "Friends of the Old House in Deuerling" and saved from imminent demolition.
Starting in 2015, the building was carefully renovated, taking heritage conservation into account. The extensive restoration of the roof structure and the re-roofing of the hipped roof led to the completion of the building´s renovation.
In 2022, the "Friends of the Old House in Deuerling" was awarded the Cultural Prize of the district by the Regensburg district.
In March 2025, the building was added to the heritage list.
