Beschreibung

The oldest building in the town is the Protestant church "St. Marien". It was built between 1250-1280, but was redesigned in the late Middle Ages by changing the central building to a high Gothic hall church. The church was originally planned with a double tower. The absence of the north tower is still clearly visible today. The south tower also lost its original height due to an emergency roof in 1837. A fundamental restoration was carried out in 1868, creating an impressive, wide space. The Sunday services of the Protestant church community take place in this church. They are supplemented by regular church concerts in the summer.
