HOW IT CAME ABOUT. Two friends meet - again and again - in a studio in Tröstau. They discover that they share a dream - or rather a vision. The vision of a space that, similar to this studio, combines light, sound and art into a whole. An open space! No fear of contact, no age limit, no barriers! A space for exchange, not for isolation! Seeing, hearing and feeling new things in a tower without ivory! Elevated goals in otherwise somewhat aimless times? Vision or not ... the only thing missing for the two's flights of fancy was physical space! But in October 2018, it seemed karma had mercy on the two and led one of them (Stefan Rettinger) professionally to the top floor (the fourth to be exact) of the former porcelain factory Winterling in Röslau. One of the two factory blocks was to be demolished and the remaining one was supposed to be renovated at some point, as explained by Cäcilia Scheffler, head of gKU Winterling. Stefan immediately felt that he had found the "Ivory-Free Tower". The junk stored there could not obstruct his view ... this was the place! His direct question, whether the space can be rented, set the ball rolling when Cäcilia said "yes". But such a project was impossible to tackle with two people alone! Transforming 760 sqm area without any infrastructure (electricity, water, etc.) into a "creative wonderland" requires more than just the vision of two dreamers. But the idea ignited others too, the location was visited together. Initial plans were developed, the vision gradually took shape in the minds. A name was found: "ET4GE"(!), Mark Eichner developed a logo, an opening date was set, an association was founded. The space was cleared and finally, on 09.03.2019, not even two months before the planned opening, the arduous time of construction and expansion began. Drywall, electrical installation, light installation (by Master Rudi Bauer), construction of the cubes and a bar all done on their own initiative and with their own resources ... they say willpower can move mountains.... I think we now understand what that means. Barely dry paint, artworks installed and hung last minute, we presented our dream space to the public on 04.05.2019. Thanks to everyone who has supported and continues to support this project with advice and especially action. The result made us forget all the hardship and the ET4GE team is looking forward to the "ET4GE" experience in the future! All proceeds will be invested into the development of this experience by the non-profit association ET4GE e.V. Share the excitement. A visit is always worth it!
