Description
This was the town´s play and festival ground. Hermann Hesse describes a circus performance on the Brühl in his story "Schön ist die Jugend". At that time, the square was surrounded by large trees, the devastation of which caused by a weather storm on 1 July 1895 is described by Hesse in his story "Der Zyklon" (The Cyclone).
