Description
Cemetery of the town of Calw since 1618. The graves of members of the Hesse and Gundert families related by marriage to the Schill family are located on the lower wall within the Schill family grave: Marie Hesse, wid. Isenberg, née Gundert, 18.10.1842- 24.04.1902, Hesse´s mother; Dr phil. Hermann Gundert, missionary, Indologist and publisher, 0 4.02.1814- 24.04.1893, Hesse´s maternal grandfather (portrayed by Hesse in the memoir "Großväterliches"); Julie Gundert, née Dubois, 01.10.1809 - 18.09.1885, Hesse´s maternal grandmother; Uranie Dubois, 15.01.01.1806 - 15.01.1885, Hesse´s great-aunt, who lived in Calw from 1872; Friedrich Gundert, 07.03.1847 - 15.07.1925 and Emma Gundert, née Heermann, 04.07.1848 - 01.10.1918, Hesse´s uncle and aunt (both of whom are described in the story "Schön ist die Jugend").
