Welcome to Köthen - the Bach city in Anhalt. Historical figures such as the composer Johann Sebastian Bach and Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, lived and worked in the town, which today has a population of around 25,000 and was first mentioned in chronicles in 1115.
Köthen's central cultural hub is the former princely palace, where a number of museums, the Köthen Information Centre and the Köthen Palace Event Centre await visitors with interesting events worth experiencing.
Whether by bike, car or train, Köthen is quick and easy to reach, with the twin towers of St James' Church, built in 1400, greeting visitors from afar. The old town centre has been lovingly renovated and invites you to stroll and explore. Historically, there is a wealth of interesting things to discover in the small town.
