Marstall

Beschreibung

The stables with the access road to the farmyard on the city side were rebuilt between 1757 and 1767 under master builder Schnödt according to designs by Emanuel Lebrecht Rothe. Private horses were stabled there until 1945. The stables are a two-storey plastered building with a mansard roof and pilaster structure, the gates are emphasised by curved gables and feature coats of arms in rococo cartouches. The lower part of the renovated Marstall can be hired for events, while the upper rooms of the Marstall have been used by the students of the "Johann Sebastian Bach" music school since the end of 2010.
