Description

The "Old Town Hall", first mentioned in 1519, burned down for the fifth time in 1802. In 1803, construction began to rebuild it in its current form. At the beginning of the 19th century, the town hall housed the mayor´s office, the council chambers, the judge´s room, the council cellar, and the public scale. Two tombstones, visible in the entrance area, commemorate the corn scribe Paul Wagner and his wife Anna, who died in 1621. From 1993 to 1995, the building was extensively reconstructed and now houses the city library.
