In 1611, a wooden plague house was built on the mass graves of the plague victims from 1607. The current plague house, which replaced the old one, was shaped in 1687. It contains a life-sized stone crucifix and was renovated in 1999 thanks to the financial support of Dr. Hans Imhoff, an honorary citizen of Wurzen.
