Description

Birthplace of the historian, theologian, and educator Christian Schöttgen (1687-1751), who wrote the "History of the Electorate of Saxony´s Stift City of Wurzen" in 1717: The stone head embedded in the outer wall belonged to a pre-Reformation Wenceslas statue in the Wenceslas Church. The building was constructed over the Rietzschke in the 14th century (vault still present). Parts of the bell pull and niches for oil lamps are still visible.
