- Until 1581 - Site of a cathedral canon´s courtyard (curia), thereafter used as a residence for dignitaries of the chapter; rebuilt as a residential building after its destruction in the Thirty Years War
- In the 19th century - Remodelled into a city villa for industrialist August Schütz (Wurzener Velour Wallpaper Factory) and has since been used as a residence
- 1972-90 - Special education day center for children and teenagers
- 1991-2001 - Special school for mentally disabled individuals
- Since 2002 - Owned by the Network for Democratic Culture e.V.; reconstruction and expansion into the D5 Cultural and Citizens´ Center; venue for readings, concerts, workshops, film and theatre performances
