Memorial site for the family of Gaudlitz

1243 - first documentary mention of the name "Gaudlitz"

since 1293 - noble family residing in the Mark Meißen

1430-1653 - The family of Gaudlitz owns the knight´s estate Nischwitz (Obersitz). This includes, among others, the then Starckaberg, now Gaudlitz Hill near Röcknitz.

Early 16th century. - The family comes into possession of the "Free estate on the Crostigall" (proven since the beginning of the 15th century).

1528-1532 - A Cuntz of Gaudlitz is episcopal bailiff to Wurzen.

from 1598 - Under Heinrich von Gaudlitz, the so-called "Gaudlitz Houses" are initially established by settling the estate in the northern Crostigall.

1696 - In the former Gaudlitz free estate on the Crostigall, a Electorate of Saxony postal station  is established (until 1808)

1714 - After the rebuilding following the devastations of the 30-year war, 13 Gaudlitz houses exist, which stand as a special commune under the office.

1839-1843 - The "Special Community Gaudlitz" and the Crostigall are united with the municipal town of Wurzen.
