Staudenkapelle

Beschreibung

At the suggestion of the then District Administrator Dr. Franz Xaver Frey, the chapel was finally erected "where the perennials are most beautiful" (quote from Dr. Frey) after a long search for a location. In the winter of 1982/83, carpenter apprentices in the 2nd and 3rd year of training at the vocational school of the Swabian Chamber of Crafts in Kempten set to work according to the plans of the then district master builder Schweizer. On April 24, 1983, the Perennial Chapel was solemnly consecrated by Pastor Wilhelm Zettler. When District Administrator Dr. Frey died in November 1987, his successor Dr. Karl Vögele had the chapel renamed "Dr.-Franz-Xaver-Frey-Staudenkapelle" in 1988.Next to the little church, benches and tables invite you to rest and linger. In case of bad weather, the chapel serves as a shelter for hikers and forest workers.
