Our Landmarks
Friedland – border town to Pomerania, gateway to the Baltic Sea. Founded on March 3, 1244, to secure the newly acquired land of the Brandenburg Ascanians. Oldest town in Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Significant in the Middle Ages, suffered in the wars, often burned down, yet time and again reborn from within itself.
