Beschreibung

Heinrich Schabbell, later mayor of Wismar, had his home and brewery built between 1569 and 1571 according to the plans of the Utrecht master builder Philipp Brandin. The Schabbell, one of the earliest Renaissance buildings in the Baltic Sea region, the neighboring building on the Schweinsbrücke and the associated courtyards have reopened their doors after careful renovation as the city history museum of the Hanseatic city of Wismar with exhibition areas. The Schabbell museum complex shows the culture and history of the Hanseatic city, past and present.
