Beschreibung

Built in the middle of the 13th century, sick and infirm people were initially cared for in the so-called hospital church. Later the church also served to accommodate homeless people and pilgrims and was a place of worship, clinic and hostel. Particularly worth seeing are the artistically painted wooden beam ceiling, the magnificently decorated pulpit and the elaborately designed stained glass window. Artworks from the destroyed churches of St. Mary and St. George have found a worthy place here and in the St. Nikolai church

The church will be well known to SOKO Wismar viewers, as the gate to the churchyard serves as the backdrop for the entrance to the police station in the television series.
