The stately building is one of the most beautiful secular buildings of the 18th century in Piesport. Its builder left his initials I and L on the portal,
the year of construction 1767 and his craftsman's mark "Zirkel und Fass", i.e. he was a cooper. The door leaf features carvings in the Empire style. This artistic style, which originated in France, was therefore well known here. Two stylized angel heads most likely symbolize the good spirits of the house, and the lion's head with the chain is supposed to protect them.
The monument office lists the building as a "former transept house; elongated mansard roof building". It is a type of house originating from Lorraine, in which the building is divided across the ridge from front to back, with the living area on the left and the farm area on the right. It is therefore referred to as a transversely divided single house.
