Beschreibung
This holy house stands on the village street called "Auf der Kaub". In 1870 it is mentioned as Kopfkreuzerweg. There is also a field name with the name "Kopfkreuz". The name Kopf changed to Kopp and finally to "Auf der Kaub". The two older names, as well as the current one, refer to a street higher up in the village. The "Kopfkreuz", donated by Johann Heinrich Ludewig and his wife, stood here in the 17th/18th century. The year of the donation is not known. Perhaps the base of the cross was so dilapidated that it was decided to build a chapel. The tent-roofed building dates from the 19th century. Inside there is a small altar table and above it a fragment of a crucifixion wayside shrine. This is probably the upper part of the former "head cross", which was restored in 1985. The motif of a "dove", symbolising the Holy Spirit, is clearly visible.
