Turmwindmühle Menke (1812)

Beschreibung

The mill was built in 1812 following a Dutch model as a wooden octagonal Dutch mill. The fully intact machines and facilities from the era of early industrialization are still present in the interior. The outbuildings house a sawmill from 1919, a broad thresher from 1914, and other historic machines. Together with the neighboring miller's house, the mill forms a significant ensemble of a rural mill complex. The comprehensively restored mill has been owned by the Menke family since 1865 and is still being maintained and preserved. This has been supported since March 26, 2012, by the Menke Mill Association, which was founded by those previously actively involved. Tours and guides are possible after prior registration! Open on "Mill Day", Whit Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Address and contact: Menke Mill Association e.V.
