Description

When the Roman legions led by Caesar conquered Gaul and the Moselle valley around 50 BC, they brought wine with them to this region. They soon recognized the potential of the steep slate slopes and the special climatic conditions of the narrow river valley, planted vineyards and built wine presses. Here in Kinheim, too, viticulture can be traced back to this time
