[124] Former Capuchin Monastery

Description

Instead of the former Capuchin monastery, there was originally the high medieval residential tower of the Counts of Rieneck, known as a donjon. After the counts established a new, representative residence with the castle at the northwest corner of the city in the 14th century, the tower fell out of use and fell into disrepair.
Between 1651 and 1664, the remains were then used for the construction of the Capuchin monastery with the Church of St. Josef.
Since 1977, it has served as the "Bruder Konrad House" with religious facilities. In the Church of St. Josef, the figures of the Lohr Good Friday procession are exhibited. Open to visitors from March to October.
