"Highly Educational": The Lohr School Museum is much more than just an exhibition!
"I have visited several school museums before. However, this one surpasses them all." (Excerpt from the guestbook)
The municipal School Museum in the Lohr district of Sendelbach is something truly special. Visitors here encounter far more than 3,000 exhibits spanning 200 years of school history. They experience the subject of school firsthand. Two fully furnished classrooms and a teacher's apartment bring the past to life.
Experience Tour: Relive a School Lesson from the Imperial Era
The museum focuses on two main periods: schooling in the Kaiserreich (1871-1918) and during the Third Reich. In both epochs, schools were used to propagate the societal order and ideology of the regimes. The museum's unique mission is to showcase schools as a reflection of society. Accordingly, groups and school classes are warmly invited to book an experiential tour in the form of a "school lesson." Max Liedtke, Professor of Education and Museum Educator, ranks the Lohr School Museum among the most nationally and internationally appealing school museums.
