Rodenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1325. Even today, the "Köhlergasse" still bears witness to the origins of the village - Rodenbach was a charcoal burner settlement long before the first recording. In the 16th and 17th centuries, weavers settled here, transporting their goods to Frankfurt and Cologne by their own barges. There was even viticulture here.
Noteworthy are the church from 1783 and a small castle from 1731 (not open to the public). Cyclists can expect a special feature: Rodenbach is located directly on the 19-kilometer-long railway line cycle path from Lohr to Marktheidenfeld. The path runs in parts on the embankment of the disused Lohr-Wertheim railway line.
