[801] Pflochsbach - District

Description

In 1992, the residents of Pflochsbach celebrated the 800th anniversary of their parish of St. Jakobus. The St. Jakobus Church was erected by Prince-Bishop Julius Echter in 1664. Particularly significant here is the late Gothic tabernacle dating from around 1500 - located to the left of the choir. The oldest altarpiece, "Christ Appears to Saint Gertrude," was created in 1686.
This district is situated on the left bank of the Main River and extends almost to the shore. A spacious playground and leisure area directly by the water invite visitors to linger. The MainRadweg (cycle path) passes directly by Pflochsbach.
