According to dendrochronological research, this building was built in 1715 on the filled moat. Before that, the city wall was breached, so that the place could also be reached from another point.
The property is a gated complex with a courtyard and is unique in Herrstein and the surrounding area.
From time to time, the inner courtyard offers a charming setting for smaller events.
In 2003, the property was acquired by the Koblenz Chamber of CraftsThe restoration work began again in 2005, as the development of the usage and financing concept took a lot of time.
In the middle of the 19th century, the house was inhabited by 4 families and the individual parts belonged to different owners.
From 2005 to 2010, the house was a training site of the HwK Koblenz. In 2008, the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts and Crafts welcomed craftsmen to the Walz from a wide variety of trades who were involved in the restoration of the property. . It was completed and inaugurated in 2010.
Today, the Centre for Restoration and Monument Preservation is also a training centre for energy consultants of architectural monuments. There are very few of them in the Federal Republic of Germany.
