Description

The village evolved from a glassmaker settlement and was first documented in 1502. Glassmakers were a strong guild in the Spessart region. Until 1559, Ruppertshütten belonged to the Counts of Rieneck. After their extinction, the village came under the rule of the Archbishop of Mainz.
In winter, beautiful cross-country ski trails await you. In summer, a leisurely cultural trail beckons for hiking in the secluded and idyllic community. Mountain bikers will also find perfect trails here. A popular excursion destination is the forest inn "Bayerische Schanz".
