Description

"A view against forgetting" was how Johannes Ungemach from the Lohrer Echo (newspaper) described the "Schloßmannblick" overlooking the new water reservoir on the Buchenberg. The memorial site was inaugurated to the public by Mayor Dr. Mario Paul on September 22, 2022. This location offers a panoramic view of the old town of Lohr, the district hospital, Alm, and Wombach. A plaque on the sandstone boulder from the city forest commemorates the aforementioned honorary citizen Joseph Schloßmann, who perished in Theresienstadt on January 4, 1943. Two well-marked hiking trails lead from the water house at the new Main bridge on the Sendelbach side and from Brunnenrainstraße in Sendelbach to this viewpoint above the new water reservoir. A street in the nearby Sendelbach new housing area is also named in memory of the honorary citizen Joseph Schloßmann.
