[201] Lindig - District

Description

The Reich Labor Service built the first residential houses in what is now the Lindig settlement in 1934. After the Second World War, the new district developed into a popular residential area. Many people who came to Lohr after the war settled here and found a new home.
From the Lindig settlement, visitors can hike to the Beilstein, from where they can enjoy a magnificent view of the Main River and the Lohr basin. The close proximity to the forest invites to many small and large walks. High above the village stands the present-day four-star Hotel Franziskushöhe. Formerly, one of the two sanatoriums for lung diseases was located there.
