The "Hirschburg" was built from 1560 to 1568 on the orders of Elector Georg of Brandenburg as a hunting lodge and is the only preserved Hohenzollern castle in Saxony-Anhalt. In the 19th century, Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia discovered the castle for himself and had it redesigned in neo-Gothic style by Friedrich August Stüler. Court hunts took place in Letzlingen until 1912, which were a significant social event. Since January 2001, a permanent exhibition informs about the castle and hunting in the Letzlingen Heath.
