The Marienkirche is originally a late Romanesque brick building. Architects from various eras have given it its current appearance. The first smaller church was built around 1200. In the 13th century, the church was converted into a five-aisled hall church. In 1492, with the appointment of Bartholomäus Rieseberg as the pastor, the Reformation began to take hold. Rieseberg was also responsible for the maintenance of the church and the acquisition of a new organ. You can visit the Marienkirche in the months of May to September from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM or by arrangement.
