Evangelisch-lutherische Kirche Jeseritz

Beschreibung

After the laying of the foundation stone on March 6, 1843, the church was built after the model of the church in the Prussian town of Wernitz. The still existing bronze bell was cast in Halberstadt and shows the year 1844. A renovation in 1886 provided space for a larger number of benches with a total of 200 seats. The tower dates from 1899, the clock was made by the Weule company from Bockenem in 1907, and the dial plates come from 1934. In 1938, a pneumatic organ made by the builder Weissenborn from Braunschweig was installed with copper front pipes, which has 5 stops. A redesign around 1984 reduced the size of the church room by building a wall, which allowed side rooms to be created. A comprehensive renovation took place in 2017, as substantial damages threatened the permanent existence of the church building. Due to requirements of monument protection, the church received its current color coat and the slating of the tower on all four sides. The Jeseritz church is regularly opened for every visitor on the first Thursday of the month from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm. If you are interested, information about the church is available and there is a small exhibition with paraments including appropriate explanations in the church.
