Description

The Nicolaistraße leads into the Holzmarkt - next to the cattle market in Sandstraße, for many centuries one of the most important trading places in the city. Here, raw wood was traded, but also finished products. It is assumed that the houses on the Holzmarkt were inhabited by wealthy timber merchants, but of course, beer was also brewed.
