Gutshof Lindstedt

Beschreibung

The monument-protected Lindstedt manor is arranged as a four-sided courtyard, on the south side of which the impressive two-story manor house, built in 1704, is located. To the east, the manor is bordered by a 56 m long timber-framed barn from the 18th century, one of the largest preserved in the Altmark. The so-called gatehouse forms the northern end of the manor, and the eastern flank is formed by a large brick building. Both were erected around 1900. Since 2006, the "Historische Region Lindstedt" association has been committed to preserving, developing and revitalizing the manor. For example, from 2012 to 2013, the upper floor of the manor house was renovated to house the association's office and a guest or holiday apartment. The restoration of the timber-framed barn was completed in 2013 and has since gained popularity for hosting events and celebrations. The timber-framed barn and the cross-diele with a kitchen in the manor house can be rented for celebrations and conferences, as well as the lovingly furnished holiday apartment for overnight stays. In addition to the manor with its monument-protected buildings, there is another highlight to discover on the estate. There is an archaeological ground monument - the so-called "Motte" or tower hill castle – which is the starting point for the reconstruction of a medieval lower noble castle planned by the association. Furthermore, a magnificent oak (natural monument), orchards, theme gardens, herb biotopes, manor ponds and the further natural environment of the manor can be explored. Guided tours can be booked with the association. Expert archaeologists, building researchers and restorers will be happy to guide you as association members across the estate and through parts of the manor buildings and have lots of interesting information about the nearly 1000-year history of the manor.
